You get to the language setup pane.

Language panes

The language pane is divided into several tabs. To navigate to one, simply click on it.
The active pane is highlighted.

  • Layout texts - these are the most common ones, that you can see on every window
  • Window names - these contain the titles of the windows
  • Messages - appear in message boxes
  • Messages2
  • Buttons - contains the button texts
  • Privileges - contains the user privileges
  • Menus - contains the menu bar options texts

Changing language at language setup

The current language that you edit is in the upper-right corner.

You can use the arrows to navigate forward or backward in languages.

Base language

You can see a base language option under the different language tabs.

Image

This is the main software language that is used while the user is not logged in and the software doesn't know yet which language the user account is set to.

The base language is the language that appears in dark gray on the left at the different tabs.

New language

To translate to a new language, please download a new, empty copy of iDeal CRM from our website(external link).
This ensures that the default lists which you will also need to translate are original, and don't contain user added new values.

To create a new language, just click on the new language button at the top-right corner:

After this you have to give the language name you wish to add:

You will now get an empty language record which you can start translating.

Be sure to translate every single language text on all the tabs.
You may find duplicate entries, during your translation process (for example two layout texts that contain the same), but those are used at different places or different context

Special language texts

You will find some language texts which are formatted like this:
"This is a %1 sentence that has %2 different placeholders and appear at the %3 pane"

In this case the %1 and %2 are called placeholders. These are filled when we display the string.
%1 and %2 will be replaced with some kind of information, so the above string may display like this:
"This is sample sentence that has some different placeholders and appear at the Settings pane".

%1 is replaced by sample, %2 is now some, and the %3 changed to Settings.

Be sure when you translate a string like this that has a % sign in it to keep the letter or number next to the % sign!

Send the finished translation to the developers

If you send us your finished translation it will be included in the next iDeal CRM release so others will be able to use it.

To send the translation by email, please select the Records menu from the software menu bar, and choose the "Send to developer" option.

This will export the new language file and start a new email in your email client:

Please also attach your translated default lists file to this email.
After that you can modify the email to include additional information in it, then send it.
